My first solo show opens tomorrow!
I was thrilled to be awarded this solo show by Arthur Watson, PPRSA and Fergus Purdie, RSA, as part of The Window Award last year at my degree show. The Window Gallery is an exhibition space for invited artworks and installations presented within a custom-designed building for an artist and an architect: studios, workshops and living space around a communal courtyard - a perfect blend of old and new.
The space is small and intimate, perfect for my first solo show, presenting some new work, including two smaller paintings - a departure from my usual large-scale pieces.
The P.V. is tomorrow afternoon, and as I prepared for the hanging of the work yesterday, I realised that despite being very excited at the prospect of a solo show, there was also a felt sense of vulnerability.
